The founders of Virundu are from a family of Restaurateurs who have been in the restaurant business for more than two years. Virundu in tamil means feast or 'dawaat'.

The Virundu Group started as a restaurant serving traditional south Indian vegetarian meals. Virundu was founded by Ms. Suguna Chandrasekar.
